THE CREST

We were more than excited when we finally landed another prestigious project in the heart of the lion country : Singapore. This is a newly developed condominium rising in the heart of Singapore, in River Valley area. The unit that comprises 4 bedrooms and big shared halls and a foyer provide many chances and improvements to play on. The Crest is surely every designer’s canvas on the making. The unique thing about this project is how the client approached us in the beginning and said : ‘I have this old antique furniture. Please combine this to fit in the unit.’ Well, for a building that features very tropical contemporary look this surely comes challenging yet intriguing for us. Their old furniture is a cascadian vintage furniture resembling a restoration hardware stuffs. So we briefed and came up with the solutions of having some moulding and accent on the wall, with contemporary classic materials and ideal colour combination. Every room is designed similar but different. Subtle colours are mixed and matchdd according to their places and, the fact that our client was a fan of chinoiserie, we conceived the ideas of incorporating the seamless neoclassical chinoiserie into theinterior for some accents. One thing not to forget is how the existing space blend and assimilate with our design. The options of having some transitional materials is always the best. The challenge was the existing wardrobe and doors, so several material color adjustments were carried through to equalize our newly proposed design. We used this trick in the drapery, upholstery, and some of the interior ornamental accessories to soften the difference of both new and existing concept, bringing the sense of idealism while retaining our client’s personal preference.
