Sheraton Regency Surabaya

We had lots of excitement and playful experience designing this 200sqm chic apartment unit at the downtown Surabaya. Located in the strategic location we sure dont want to let this project go in vain! Coming up to the shared area, the dining room is one of the major focal point of the whole unit. Fortune dining table is ready to serve you with the modern classic Barbara Bary Chinese modern cupboards. Do you also notice the mirror panels on the middle with hatched golden trimmings forming crosses? what do you think? Are those Crosses that make a wall or a wall that makes the crosses?

The main idea was to revamp the existing site and languish it to a completely stunning renovated unit. This unit had a particular of 1990s look with old furniture, old materials, and some of them are even sadder... decaying to rust. As a designer, we decided to give a modern classic feel in every single of the room but with different finishing and physical touch. Operated on a tight budget, we chose and thought every step considerably on how to maximize the space with just minimum amount of changes. One example, take a look at the cozy master bedroom with modern off-white trimming at the headboard walls. The furniture choices of study desk and american classic TV console add in-depth ambience of what embraces this bedroom.

Common bedroom has more contemporary touch but with accents of gold and wallpaper. Base colour is a light beige color combined with several darker tones for accentuation. The dark wooden study table along the window balances the bright tones of the room.

Third common bedroom has more classical feel with painted wall trimmings and modern wardrobe and desk. Colours are chosen based on the client’s request and their children’s. They basically chose the semi greenish grey color, the color which blends well and not overwhelms the tiny space over. The golden wardrobe accents are something to see. We turned normal aluminium framing and powdercoated it with golds just to give some accentuation over the thin lines when you try to comprehensively look throught the overall design of this room. What we loved about this project is how unique this space is. Not only is the layout is anti-mainstream, but all the rooms are arranged in peculiar layout, but that’s what intrigued us about this! The renovation approximately took about 3 months to complete but the results were intriguingly well beyond expectation!
