Generation Salon
Another project for a hairdressing! This time situated at one of the university complex in eastern Surabaya, more casual design was needed to attract customers especially the students from university with limited budget. Here we had the chance of designing a beauty salon who was moving to the new place, with the new building. They building was constructed from zero, so more thorough planning can be taken perfectly into places. The main concept was white, purely minimalistic, simple yet sophisticated, with some intriguing elements for the emphasis, like the zig-zag lines, triangular patterns, and some dichromatic colors which plays within the scene as desribed later in the page below.

As mentioned, beauty-related industry compromises tranquility and comfort, with minimum complexity and soft light approach for the pleasure of the client. Big tables, modern grand mirrors were all the keypoints of this design as they make the rooms more spacious, and reflect the lights brighter. As we take the journey inside, we will meet lots of area designed simply with table counter and built-in mirror panels as the focal point of the area, the others will be the complementing factor that must correspond well to our basic design. Anyway, who does not love white? We had lots of fun with whites as it becomes one of the neutral color as our blank canvas to play with any variations.

Picture on the right is the mascot of our feature wall pattern ideas. It was basically an empty wall with some initial ideas but we thought that giving a unique things will be good for the taking so we gace our shot for the unique triangular panels.
Drop ceiling was used in most area as they give more apparent depths to the space, added with indirect illumination from the hidden cove lights. Some of the wall feature also derives unique modern elements of being ‘stylish’ as the hair salon usually keep their image eye-catchy. In overall impression, we kept the base color as white and bright as possible, not only because that was what the client preferred, but it was also useful to make the space bigger and give us plenty of rooms to play on the mirrors and walls.

Coming to the last room, this is the space for chemical treatment and hair makeover with the hairpin people normally do before going to a party. We see here the subtle maroon pink was chosen combined with the uniquely voluptuous big mirrors with curves and daring red addicts! Cheers for this project.
